Memorial Bench Sponsorship

• Full payment is required before your Memorial Bench Sponsorship is processed.
• Memorial Bench Sponsorships are non-refundable.
• Any changes made after processing will incur a fee of £20.00 including VAT.
• Please allow up to 4 weeks for your bench and plaque to be processed.
• Memorial Bench Sponsorship lasts for a period of 10 years from the agreed start date. If its conditions allows, the seating may be left in place after this time. This will be at Colchester Zoo’s absolute discretion.
• Whilst we will do our best to install the bench in your preferred location, we cannot guarantee this. Colchester Zoo reserves the right to move the bench within the sponsorship period.
• We cannot guarantee that the bench will remain in the same position throughout its ten-year lifetime and reserve the right to move it. We will contact the purchaser to agree a suitable relocation.
• In the unlikely event that your bench is damaged or vandalised, we will move your plaque to another bench.
• No unauthorised items or objects should be left on the bench. This includes but is not limited to flowers, cards, ribbons and photos. We reserve the right to remove any unauthorised objects from the bench.
• 6 adult complimentary tickets are included within the sponsorship and are valid for 1 use each within 2 years from the agreed start date of sponsorship.
• Complimentary tickets do not qualify holders’ entry to secondary attractions.
• No monetary value is attached to complimentary tickets and they are not for resale. Any found to be resold will be invalidated.
• Once your bench has reached the end of its ten year-period, the bench will stay in the premises but the plaque will be removed and will be made available for you to collect; however, if not collected within a reasonable period, we reserve the right to dispose of it.
• We reserve the right to refuse applications from individuals or groups should we suspect that there would or could be conflict of interest with Colchester Zoo’s mission.
• All memorial bench packages are subject to change if circumstances dictate.
• The data you supply will only be used for the purposes intended and not passes to any third parties.
• Discounts for Zoo Passholders are not available.

Ash Scattering

• Exclusive early morning access is for up to 10 people only.
• Please advise at the time of booking if anyone visiting has additional requirements including disability, pregnancy, diet or immune suppression.
• All visitors under the age of 18yrs must be supervised by a responsible adult over the age of 18yrs old.
• We will do our best to accommodate late arrivals however, this may affect your visit.
• Ashes can only be scattered in designated areas of the zoo’s grounds as agreed upon enquiry due to risk of contamination of animals or plants.
• Unauthorised ash scattering is not permitted.
• As Colchester Zoo is constantly developing, we cannot guarantee that you will always have access to the same location in the zoo to which you have chosen to scatter ashes. We also cannot guarantee that the area you choose will always look the same or used for the same purpose.
• We require notice of up to two weeks to process your request.
• The data you supply will only be used for the purposes intended and not passes to any third parties.
• Discounts for Zoo Passholders are not available.
