This habitat includes a large pool area, a large natural wetland and a heated rock for those chilly days. There are large viewing glass windows located along this habitat where you can watch the otters splash and play in their pool. There is also additional viewing located around the back of their habitat heading towards Australian Rainbows.

Smooth-coated otters can swim for long distance and stay underwater for up to 8 minutes with a single breath. Their whiskers allow them to sense movement and find prey even in murky water.

Opposite our Otter Creek viewing area, is our large lake which is also home to our flock of Chilean flamingos. These colourful birds spend their time in very large groups of several thousand. The collective name for a group of flamingos is a flamboyance. They can be seen from the bridge.
